Dr Mackenzie has recently attended the London Breast Meeting 2019 where best practice in aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery was discussed in detail.
Dr Mackenzie has connected with other plastic surgeons from all around the World to learn new techniques and strategies to improve outcomes for her patients.
Interesting and inspiring keynote lectures were delivered on the best practice in autologous (using your own tissue) and implant based breast reconstruction over the decades as well as the best practice in lipofilling of the breast.
Special topics covered included breast implant illness, best practice in breast augmentation and mastopexy. Experts gave opinion on critical steps in breast augmentation, dual plane augmentation and managing breast asymmetries in aesthetic breast surgery.
Importantly, the participants have been updated on recent developments in BIA-ALCL.
Sharing the knowledge should be the core of every plastic surgeon’s practice.
